Whether you have just purchased or are looking to restore an existing structure to its original state, it is always advisable to use a Concrete Sealer. This method can help prevent future damages as well as the cost of new repairs. 


The first step to removing the old concrete sealant from floors is to determine how much is needed. Once this is done, it is important to thoroughly dry out the area where the new concrete sealant will be applied. In addition, prior to applying a new layer of sealant to your floors, it is important to ensure that the old layer is completely removed.

After the old layer of sealant has been removed, apply the new layer on top of the first layer. Do this until you are satisfied with the amount of sealant that will be applied. It is important to allow adequate drying time between applications.

You should never wait too long before applying your new concrete sealant to your floors to prevent moisture from seeping into your flooring. If you allow the time frame to get too long, then water may seep underneath the new layer and do damage to your floors.

When you begin to apply the new concrete sealant to your floors, apply it in very thin layers. This is to help keep the sealant from peeling and drying out. Be careful not to apply the new layer directly over the top of the old layer. Doing so can cause the former layer to peel away from the surface resulting in a chipped or damaged surface.

When applying the new layer of sealant, leave a couple of inches of space between each layer of sealant to give it some time to dry out properly. If you wait too long between application of the new layer, then the sealant can actually rot and dry out, causing damage to your floor.

Once you have applied your new layer of sealant, then the next step is to prime the area where the new layer will be laid. This ensures that the new layer will adhere to the floor properly and prevents scratches and dents from occurring.

It is important to always sand the area that will be covered by the new layer after it has been applied. This will ensure that the new layer is completely sealed. and will help prevent further scratches from occurring. It is also a great way to prevent the new layer from getting too much water on it.

If you have any cracks or holes in your floor, then you should caulk them prior to applying the concrete sealer. The caulk can help to seal the hole and prevent water from penetrating your floor.

Make sure to let your new layer set for at least 48 hours after you finish applying the sealant. The longer you let the new layer set, the better the sealant will bond to your flooring.

After your new layer has dried for a few days, then you will be able to smooth the surface with a soft brush to make sure it looks even and smooth. This will help to prevent it from being damaged if the sealant comes into contact with other surfaces.

If there are areas where the new layer is not sticking properly, then use sand paper or a soft polisher to remove any bubbles that may be sticking out. It is important to leave a small amount of air space between each layer of sealant.

You will notice that as you begin to clean the floor, more of the sealant will start to peel off. If this happens, you will need to use a bit more of the sealer to cover up the areas.
